DevOps / Cybersecurity Engineer

How to Apply

ONLY APPLICATIONS WITH COVERING LETTERS & FULL EDUCATION HISTORY INCLUDING GRADES ACHIEVED WILL BE CONSIDERED

Submit your CV and a covering letter via email to careers@netwatchglobal.com. Covering letters should detail your interest in our company, your passion for development, and why you’d be a great fit for this role.

The Role

We’re looking for someone who lives at the intersection of DevOps and cybersecurity—someone who gets excited about infrastructure, automation, and defending systems against real-world threats.

If you’re a cloud-savvy problem solver who enjoys autonomy and ownership, this is your role.

You’ll lead the charge in keeping our SaaS platform secure, scalable, and resilient. From fine-tuning Terraform and AWS environments to enhancing monitoring, incident response, and CI/CD—you’ll be the person we turn to when it comes to building reliable, secure infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening our security posture by contributing to the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures. You’ll work closely with our IT and development teams to embed security best practices into systems and software from the ground up.

We’re a small, sharp team, so there’s plenty of space to contribute ideas, try new tools, and help shape how we do DevOps and security as we grow. We’re also beginning to host AI-based services and pipelines, so experience supporting compute-heavy, model-driven workloads is a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Designing, maintaining, and improving infrastructure-as-code setups using Terraform across multiple environments.
  • Managing production and pre-production AWS environments, including ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, and SQS.
  • Building and refining CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Strengthening observability through enhanced monitoring and alerting to improve reliability and incident response.
  • Driving security initiatives—applying compliance standards, validating system security requirements, and contributing to planning and development with a security-first mindset.
  • Supporting and collaborating with developers, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth software delivery.
  • Responding to security incidents, conducting forensic investigations, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Analysing system metrics to guide improvements and ensure infrastructure meets performance and availability needs.
  • Documenting and evolving DevOps standards, tooling, and processes in line with best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Contributing to the design and upkeep of infrastructure across dev, UAT, and production environments.
  • Keeping a close eye on cloud spend and cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Supporting emerging workloads, including hosting and scaling AI-based services and pipelines.
What You Should Bring
  • 4+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, DevOps, or related roles.
  • Qualification/certification in networking and/or security related field.
  • Strong experience with AWS and Terraform for managing scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerisation (Docker, ECS, or similar).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling and development workflow automation.
  • Good awareness of cloud security, observability, and performance optimisation.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
  • Experience with AWS and its components (e.g., WAF, load balancing, RDS, SQS, Route53 etc).
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and comfort working as the go-to infrastructure person in a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to spot anomalies in logs and investigate potential security threats.
  • Keen interest in staying ahead of emerging cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience architecting highly reliable infrastructure.
Nice to Have
  • Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CySA+)
  • Disaster recovery planning experience.
  • Exposure to compute-intensive, AI/ML-driven systems is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of Laravel application build/deploy workflows.

Job Details

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-time
  • Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 – based on experience
