Uncovering Dishonesty: How NetWatch Intelligence Solutions Secured a £6.6m Insurance Victory
Problem:
High-value insurance claims often involve exaggeration or concealment, with claimants deleting or hiding social media activity to avoid detection. This makes it hard for insurers to find proof of dishonesty, increasing the risk of costly payouts.
Solution:
NetWatch used advanced intelligence solutions to dig deeper, focusing on the claimant's extreme sports interests. Their persistence uncovered a key photo of the claimant BASE jumping in Italy, providing decisive evidence that led to the dismissal of the £6.6m claim.

"The NetWatch OSINT product proved to be a critical piece of evidence in this case. Intel reports commissioned from other suppliers are unlikely to have uncovered the photograph taken of the claimant in the BASE jump landing zone. Success at trial depended on several factors, including OSINT, and involved a collaborative approach between Hastings Direct, Keoghs, and NetWatch."

Delivering Rapid Intelligence in Critical Moments
Problem:
After a serious incident, insurers are often left unsure if their customers are involved. In this case, our client needed the registration of a Range Rover that crashed into a school to quickly determine if it belonged to one of their policyholders.
Solution:
NetWatch scoured social media and livestreams of the incident, spotting a partially visible vehicle plate. Our analysts tested variations against the UK vehicle database and confirmed the exact registration of the Range Rover.

"This case really demonstrated the value of combining open-source intelligence with detailed analytical work. By carefully reviewing hours of livestream footage and testing multiple plate variations against the DVLA database, we were able to confirm the vehicle's identity with confidence. It was rewarding to know that our findings gave the client the clarity they needed to act quickly"

Digital Footprints Can't Hide Forever: How Small Clues Lead to Big Insights
Problem:
Claimants are increasingly cautious, restricting online activity and tightening privacy settings to avoid detection.
Solution:
NetWatch's Toolsuite and analysts trace digital breadcrumbs from private accounts. One claimant's Strava leaderboard and Spotify playlists—showing driving, running, and performing—revealed abilities that undermined his claim.

"Even when someone tightens their privacy settings, there's almost always a trail left behind. Our analysts know how to follow it, connecting the smallest digital clues to generate insights that matter."
